This Gotan Project double disc/ double tour album is quite a treat. The first tour disc is ‘La Revancha Del Tango Tour’ which unsurprisingly concerns material taken from the album ‘La Revancha Del Tango,’ recorded at The Forum in London in 2003. The second disc is the ‘Lunatico Tour’ which takes music from the ‘Lunatico’ album (with occasional cross over songs from other works). This one was recorded at Festineuch, Neuchatel (Switzerland) in 2007.

Both discs are supreme quality. The recording quality is pretty pitch perfect and audience noise is to an absolute minimum, except applause between tracks. The problem with the first disc is that it is so well played that you’d swear it wasn’t actually a live recording you were listening to. They do play with the sounds of each song that you hear on the studio recorded material, but done so pitch perfectly that it may as well just be an alternative version you are listening to. This also bodes well for people who are not fans of live albums.
The ‘Lunatico’ disc on the other hand has much more vocal work, and does sound much more like a live recording. Again there is nothing short of professionalism going into the orchestration of the show.
This is indispensible for any fans – and a real bargain to get two shows. There is very little in the way of cross over, plus both disc come with an added bonus track of orchestral versions of ‘Santa Maria’ and ‘Diferente’.

This is indeed exciting news for UK fans as they are coming to the UK next month. Glasswerk will indeed be there to cover what looks set to be a great show at the London Roundhouse on the 11th December.
