An atmospheric piano-and-drums intro ensures things start nicely downbeat on this latest one from the Yorkshire duo, the sulky vocals follow suit before overdriven guitar kicks in and things builds irresistibly to a real peach of a chorus that, delivered with a jerky vigour recalling on-form Maximo Park, but expanding into some stadium-worthy bigness that belies the band’s modest membership. B-side “146 ways” is gentler and simpler, a soothing 90s indie sound countering the first track nicely.
