Mirrorkicks - Anything
Released: 2nd February 2010
Label: Fruit Pie Music

Funk percussion scattered, groove rock allows the soaring echo of Ed Pereira to plead for gyration, as this South London quartet uses the mid-tempo strut of ‘Anything’.

In order to build upon their well-received and intriguing cover of Leona Lewis’ ‘Bleedin’ Love’. The spasms of energy aren’t as exuberant as you initially expect, given that the skipping percussion tempo build of Ingmar seemed to promise that a bit more energy was to follow.

Dawdling desperation provides for a stirring outro, but the synergy between vocals and the instrumentals just appears a little awry at the moment. However, Mirrorkicks ooze sincerity and build enough heart into this effort, to make them sound genuine enough.
