‘Alcatraz’, is a topsy-turvy three and a half minute release of bemusement and emotions, Metcalfe’s demonstrative mid-tempo tone is backed up by interludes of calmingly caressing backing. In impact only, they seem to mirror the ability of Nickelback to use grit and instrumental drive when needed, in order to draw you into their cause.
