The Boy Who Trapped The Sun
The Boy Who Trapped The Sun - Dreaming Like a Fool
Released: 19th September 2010
Label: Geffen Records

They say home is where the heart is and that’s certainly the case with Colin MacLeod otherwise better known as the Boy Who Trapped the Sun. Now living in London, MacLeod originally lived a chilled out lifestyle fishing in the Scottish Islands. MacLeod often says that he prefers the chilled life rather than fast paced suburban life and it’s pretty apparent throughout ‘Dreaming like a Fool.’
The waltz-y gentle paced rhythm will appeal to fans of bands such as Badly Drawn Boy and Travis. Listening to the track it feels as if you’re cruising through the country side on a nice summer’s day with your best friends. You’d not be blamed for thinking it is a nice down to earth song but the song is really written about an ex girlfriend of Macleod who tried to stab him. Despite the lyrical context, the overall structure of the song is a rather charming one.
