LED Festival, Saturday @ Victoria Park, London
Date: 27th August 2010

The sun decided to shine on Saturday so no matter how sore our heads were we flocked in for another day of dance music. However, it was the rock acts that got the best reception on the main stage. Friendly Fires played a solid indie-dance set full of recognisable hits to get the audience moving.

Over in the Annie Mac tent Shy FX and Sub Focus played sets packed with music to bust a move to, and the tent was soon full of sweaty bodies. By the time Aphex Twin came on everyone was in fine spirits. Accompanied by hauntingly twisted visuals Aphex Twin played a staggering set of evocative electronica. The demonic sounds and images were enhanced by spectacular laser lighting and vocalists on stage wearing animal costumes.

Allison Goldfrapp entered the main stage dressed in an amazing sparkly silver dress, immediately grabbing the crowds attention. The rest of the band were also clad in silver, the eye-catching glitz and glamour matched by a flawless set of dazzling hits. Allison’s dance moves and stage presence were impressive but at times it all seemed a little over choreographed. A reformed Leftfield finished off the night with a set of live electronic sounds. Unfortunately the Victoria Park sound system didn’t provide the thunderous levels required to make it an engaging set. But the crowd still danced to the ambient house vibes to close the weekend in style.
