McFly @ MEN Arena

This is what you get when you send a ten year old to write live reviews for a national music site....A loada b*****ks.
It’s certainly a spectacle. Not since the glory days of Rome I tell ya, nay, not since Bon Jovi circa 1987 have you witnessed such pyrotechnics.
With all the theatrics, it doesn’t really matter if you like McFly or not, it’s pretty hard not to be entertained – the lights, the fireworks, the flame machines…even a rising platform for the drummer, for crying out loud. ‘Hello Broadway!’ ‘Take that Les Mis!’
The band is good enough, no complaints – although the screaming legions of young girls don’t care one way or the other – but their voices don’t stand up well live. All the singles are played of course, and the new album ‘Motion in the Ocean’ is plugged.
My young nephew gladly accompanied me to the gig, and really enjoyed the show, his only complaint being the loud noise… “Coming from the speakers?” I ask, “No, from all the girls screaming,” he says.
So beware people, go see McFly by all means, but don’t forget your ear-muffs, little girl repellant spray and firework-spark shielding protective goggles.

Unfortunately, we couldn't get any opinions of the venue's drinks prices, car parking or support acts so if anyone over the age of ten went to see this 'band' and isn't too ashamed to admit it, please contact us to fill in the gaps. x
