You know how it is, you’ve had a heavy night on the town, or at the pub, but you’re not quite ready to end the night, so it’s back to yours or someone else’s, to continue the party, and slowly wind down. Well, now the team who brought us Back To Mine, have done it again, and brought us Back To The Bus, a Back To Mine for the rock crowd. Kicking off with Hull-based The Paddingtons; we begin a string of compilations to kick back to, and an insight into various bands life on tour, personal tastes and influences.
To kick things off, The Paddingtons have chosen well, and if you ever won a chance to join a band on tour, you could do worse than being on this tour bus. The band have definitely defined their influences, and have a fantastic taste in music, from classic favourites including Iggy And The Stooges, The Clash, The Housemartins and Joy Division, there is a definite punk and new wave mood. New upstarts for the younger listeners include The Libertines, The Cribs, Graham Coxon and a refreshing sight, The Moldy Peaches which is definitely one to mellow out to following all that thrashing around on guitars.
If that wasn’t enough, fans of the band are treated to a taster of their new material, in the shape of the short but sweet, Kill A Fashion Killer, a catchy affair, with a snarling nature, followed up with a chat about life on the road. If this trip down memory lane takes your fancy, look out for the next in the series, from Babyshambles.
