I Dream In Colour - If You
Released: 4th October 2010

Richard and Peter Judge, Michael Thackeray and Steve Daniels (or I Dream In Colour for short) are back with their latest release. It seems only yesterday I was watching a tinny YouTube video, documenting the humble beginnings of this big song way back in June 2010 (when the weather was vaguely acceptable). Available now as a free download from I Dream In Colour's website, 'If You' comes as the follow-up to 'The Boiler Room' EP and single 'Get Along', and what a stunner it is. At the offset trembling guitar intensifies to warm bass, heartfelt vocals and driven drums. With dates including London's Underbelly marking the end of their UK mini-tour (for now), the band will use November to undertake some gigs in Germany and Austria. Of course I Dream In Colour is no stranger to this corner of Europe which, hopefully this time around, will host an audience ever more receptive to their spirited live performances.

'If You' is a fragile lullaby with the narrator crying out "If you see that I'm calling/Then put your finger to my lips"; as he comes to a painful realisation about the state of his relationship. It's a situation that any listener can relate to, quite a different song to the ballsier 'Get Along', which conjures up images of a showdown in some old Western movie. 'If You' on the other hand, contains more sprinklings of fairy dust then it does gunpowder, gradually becoming more layered with frustration as it goes on.

At present the band are tweaking their hotly anticipated debut album, which could be out sometime next year. With tracks such as the ones they've already given an airing though, I don't think they'll have to contend with too much trouble with the critics.
