13th Hole - Bus Stop
Released: 7th November 2005
Label: Lime Records

What is this? Is it meant to be Bran van 3000, with some laid back squelchy stuff and then a crunch riff about a bus stop, vocals put through oh-so-trendy band pass filters?

Female chorusing voices are added when the main chorus drops, and then, for the second verse, yet more guitar layers, and it might just be listenable, I’m not entirely sure. I think it’s what they call slacker-rock, something like Elastica might produce, or maybe a Sleeper track. All very proficient really, they can play their instruments and understand harmony and melody, and ultimately a few minutes slip by as if you were in a coma. Like I said, slacker-rock.

And the b-side isn’t worth mentioning, really. It’s called ‘’eedy’ – no really – and it falters like a bad re-write of the a-side might be expected to.
