The lively opening sees Jon Fratelli exude more swagger than Carl Barat and Johnny Borrell combined as he delivers the lyric ‘well you must be a girl with shoes like that’, setting the tone for this confident and powerful live favourite.
Within a genre so full of cheap imitations, it is important for bands to know their style inside out. This is unquestionably one of The Fratellis’ main assets, and it is thanks to the confidence in their ability to churn out hit after hit that the Scots keep improving with every release. At this moment in time I am tempted to say that no one does this kind of jaunty indie music better. Roll on the album!
