As the lights dim on the assembled early evening ranks in the Garage, there they are. Eight of them stood in a row like some kind of post rock police line up and then it begins.
'Skin' swoops like a butterfly, rocks like a bee moshing in the sweaty dancefloor of that exclusive drinking den in town. Next up is 'Find a Safe Place', a song that is gigantic in its vision but still more beautiful than the face of the one that got away. 'Flux' lives up to its name as it pounds the senses as all at once it is rising, swooping, swooning, caterwauling with perfect tone as single of the week, nae month, nae year on (should be) next big thing FM pickpockets the crowd, like a modern day Artful Dodger, of their hearts, minds and emotions.
As 'How Did You Fall' gives you everything you ever wanted and jelly and ice cream for afters I decide to throw out the comparisons to the likes of Hope of the States, certain Canadian collectives and Icelandic types because they are too easy and none of them are really true and my mind drifts to paraphrase a certain Mancunian wordsmith, 'I was living in the haze of a drunken hour and heaven knows I'm 'Revered' now' - yes I know its a tad trite but I'm also a tad moved.
