Some anthemic Latino-infused metal from the celebrated Gibraltians forthcoming third album. Lead off track “Alive” hits the ground running with its rush of melody and don’t-bore-us-get-to-the-chorus approach and memorable “I want to feel the blood flow inside me” lyric.
What sets Breed 77 apart is their ability to fuse the Latin and Moroccan rhythms and acoustic guitar with some tight metal riffage giving them the hooks that a band such as System of a Down would kill for.
This single also has two exclusive non-album track b-sides that showcase the passionate voice of singer Paul Isola who can pull off delicate harmonies one minute and anguished screams the next.
Sure the songs are more poppy than their previous record, but when they are delivered with as much grit and conviction as this then who can argue?
