Jesca Hoop - Hunting My Dress
Released: 30th November 2009

Releasing her second album, the former Tom Waits nanny and folk traditionalist has taken a step forward into enchanted midnight grounds with “Hunting My Dress.”

Quite the angelic voiced talent, Hoop takes her album largely down the folk pathway, but the instrumentation involved is very captivating. At some points you’d swear you were listening to an early Kate Bush record.

The music and vocal work can get very playful at times indeed, but this does not detract from anything and if anything adds a wonderful and magical charm to the album as a whole. Hoop is one to watch outside of the commercial world. Talents like this get to wear the patch “ARTIST” on their sleeve with pride as they deserve the title.
