Four Year Strong - The Security Of The Familiar

It’s a nice feeling when you think that, maybe, a band listens to their listeners.
A few months ago I wrote a review of Four Year Strong’s latest record, ‘In Some Way, Shape Or Form’. And, regardless of my view, I said that one of the memorable tracks was the very one which is to be released as a single on the 27th of February 2012. That would be this single, ‘The Security Of The Familiar’.
This track, in keeping with the typical FYS code of conduct, has the to-and-fro of vocals from Alan Day and Dan O’ Connor. Here, we see them shout out “Someone save me from myself” on top of an infectious guitar quip.
This fantastic pop-punk song is easily one of the better from their latest offering. It is very much what a fan of Four Year Strong wants from a record with their name on it. In an album which most thought (myself included) was lacklustre, ‘The Security of the Familiar’ is a gleaming addition which leaves a smile on the face of anyone who appreciates this bands earlier work.
This band require more exposure than they’re receiving these days. With a UK tour which kicks off at the end of this month, these saviours of pop punk have much more potential. Check them out at the dates which follow.
