If Middleman were a drink, it would be a cocktail of slightly unusual ingredients, with a surprisingly pleasant result nonetheless; something you just can’t help liking.
A four piece ‘pop-hop’ band based in West Yorkshire, they combine poetry reminiscent of The Streets (although perhaps more imaginative), with upbeat live and electronic sounds worthy of any chart pop and dance acts.
The two songs on this demo are quite contrasting; the first is more rap-based while the second is more melodic in its vocals. Although the lyrics are important, it is clear that the music has been created with care, attention and creativity.
Aiming to provide “an innovative platform for the spoken word”, Middleman succeeds in doing just that, with energy and enthusiasm aplenty.
