Marching percussion bumps into the cyclical bass grind and revolving guitars to set up for another rhythmically rousing, defiant, radio-friendly The Pigeon Detectives single, ‘Lost’. Matt Bowman’s vocals adopt a more forlorn, echoing and beleaguered lag than on previous boozy indie anthems, as some personal issue grappling takes place.
Grimy, almost bluesy guitar interludes and outro, gives the number more seriousness and reflection. This lends these Rothwell rousers more staying power, as they continue to harness the more searching pull of their third album material.
